EXPLORING THE INNATE CONNECTION BETWEEN TAMARIKI & NATURE

Taonga Collection

Māori regard land, soil and water as taonga (treasures). Our tamariki will become the kaitiaki (guardians) of these taonga. Human beings and Mother Earth are intertwined on every level, not just the physical. Loosely woven brushstrokes symbolise this connection and disperse off the canvas, into the Universe beyond.

Forest Child painting

TAMAITI NGAHERE

(Forest Child)

The beautiful lush greens and copper tones woven into this artwork in painterly strokes are symbolic of the forest and all that live inside it. Forests are deeply spiritual places. You can almost hear the magical whispers of old trees. Our senses become alive all at once.

Autumn child painting

TAMAITI NGAHURU

(Autumn Child)

“The only constant is change.”

Autumn Child is inspired by the impermanence of nature. A reminder to embrace the present while appreciating the past. Burnt oranges, coppers and deep red hues symbolise the leaves changing colour - nature's wonderful reminder to connect with the here and now.
