Growing up in New Zealand, Monique was never far from a beach or a farm. She was also never far from a sketchbook and paints as she aspired to be an artist like her Granny. Her love for nature always made its way into her sketchbooks.
Monique graduated with a degree in Art and Design and went on to work in a large media agency, as Deputy Art Director for four years, before making the move to Ireland with her husband in 2007. 12 years and five kids later, Monique and her family returned to live New Zealand where she continues to follow her artistic passion while raising a family.
Monique’s artwork draws on nature and nurture and the simple joy it brings. Children feature heavily in Monique’s work. It is their imagination and curiosity that she aims to capture, along with the purity of their connection with nature.
Monique works with numerous mediums including oils, ink, charcoals, watercolours and graphite. She will often let the subject matter dictate the medium she uses.
Monique recently held a sell-out solo exhibition and continues to serve a global audience from her Auckland based studio.
